THE VIOLIN CHANNEL: Uxía Martínez Botana Signs with Fuga Libera Label

Double bassist Uxía Martinez Botana has signed with the Fuga Libera label, which was launched in the spring of 2004. Part of the Outhere Music Group, the label's Artistic Director is Charles Adriaenssen.

Martinez Botana's upcoming album, Mendelssohn X Files, features string quartet works by Felix Mendelssohn.  Martinez Botana replaced the cello and put the double bass at the heart of the ensemble. Her next recording project will feature music by Fazil Say, including the world premiere recording of a piece that was written for her, entitled ‘Immigrants’ Trio.
